Canal Flats, British Columbia
Nestled in the heart of the East Kootenay, the Village of Canal Flats is halfway between Cranbrook and Invermere. The Village was incorporated in 2004 and is one of the youngest municipalities in British Columbia.
Canal Flats is situated at the picturesque setting of the source of the mighty Columbia River and the Columbia Lake Wetlands. A Greenway Trail Network system is being developed that will link Canal Flats to the shores of Columbia Lake.
The only public beach and boat launch on Columbia Lake are just a few of the amenities that Canal Flats has to offer. A golf course, full-service grocery store, gas station, liquor store, hardware store, public school, library, arena, playground, and beautiful parks are just a few more. Canal Flats also boasts 2 fine restaurants, Fire Valley and Dot’s, as well as the Sunflower Café and Roy’s Pizza.
Canal Flats in also the gateway to incredible backcountry adventures. Boating, swimming, hiking, ATVing, RVing, camping, ice-skating, snowshoeing, hunting, fishing and horseback riding are just a few.
